SLUG NICKEL is
an Andover, CT based, comic/bluegrass/country/folk/rock band that has been
performing in the greater Hartford area in various incarnations since 1999. What started
as a humble solo act playing weekly (NOT weakly) at a Manchester, CT brewery is now a full
blown bar band with a unique and diverse repertoire ranging from rock and reggae to Motown
and calypso and old time blue grass. Throw in some Irish drinking songs and serve it up
with a comic delivery and you have SLUG NICKEL. Their low tech, high quality shows
conjure images of fishing holes, rusty cars, and smoke filled gin mills, all places your
average American would recognize with great fondness. No elevator muzak here. SLUG NICKEL
rips up all types of music by the roots and shakes it in your face, dirt and all! |
